Eun Raquintan is a Manila-based graphic designer and illustrator. Her passion for art is rooted on painting, charcoal drawing, photography, graphic design and eventually, illustration.
Skills
Eun began as a self-taught graphic designer who mastered Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and CorelDraw. She is also relatively skilled in video editing through Adobe Premiere and web design through Adobe Dreamweaver. In the field of graphic design, Eun specializes in branding (logo design, ad/brochure design, poster design, letterhead design, etc.), clothing design, print design, as well as photo manipulation.
Print Design
In 2013, Eun began expanding into print design for all types of garments when she opened her own clothing brand. The store, however, despite its good products and high sales, shut down so Eun could focus on her studies. This led her to open a home-based business of t-shirt printing later that year, where she has designed and printed over 1,000 shirts (and counting) since then. After closing down her brand, she began freelance graphic designing in 2014.
Illustration
Eun illustrated her first storybook in collaboration with her cousin Naomi in 2015. The term Naomi x Eun: The Taya! Special Project was coined for the creation of the storybook that spanned 3 months. Each milestone of this project is carefully documented and can be found here. Taya!, which translates to You're It!, is a bilingual children's storybook written by Naomi Raquintan and illustrated by Eun. Naomi, a Bachelor of Music in Music Education graduate of the University of the Philippines, wrote Taya! to aid its young readers in learning musical concepts such as loudness, duration, and timbre. The project is based on the framework of storytelling with music concepts integrated into the story. The project, however, did not end there. In compliance to her [Naomi] thesis requirements, Naomi conducted several events including Taya! Pilot Storytelling and Taya! Book Launch and Workshop.
Multimedia Arts & Information Technology
Eun is currently studying Bachelor of Science in Information Technology Major in Digital Arts at STI College, an interdisciplinary degree that focuses on multimedia arts and animation, as well as development and management of information systems. In the field of information technology, she is being trained in programming languages such as Java (Console), Java (GUI), VB.NET, VBA, C#, PHP, HTML, CSS, and SQL.
